What’s with the mad flurry of face mask buying spree so much so that the prices increased by three folds?
I for one didnt rush out to buy any. I adopted the bo chap attitude. What’s more incredulous is the action of some guy who wanted to make a business trip during the H1N1 scare days. He told the shop owner that he was willing to fork out $500 for a box of face masks when he found out that there were no stocks left.
As the orange alert is being lowered to a yellow alert, the price of face masks has dropped to its original level. Thank god. But a medical supplier was saying that the next wave of H1N1 cases might be coming along which will shore up the demand of face masks again.
The H1N1 outbreak which has the authorities treating it as the 2nd Sars pandemic turns out to be milder as expected. Cheers all around. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that no major outbreak is being discovered in the next few weeks. Then things can resume back to normal.
