Over the National Day holiday, many people took advantage of the long weekend to go overseas. What resulted is the number of tragedies that occurred. The Tioman incident, Bali incident and another third incident which I’ve forgotten, splashed over the S.T.
In the Tioman case, the heavy downpour resulted in a flash flood which swept the four people away, drowning two of them. The guy who died in Bali was swimming together with 30 other people before a strong current overcame him. Although he had a friend with him to keep him afloat while another friend went to get help, eventually he didn’t survive.
Looks like H1N1 has reached its plateau after the number of people visiting clinics has started to decline. However in Malaysia, it is only beginning to get worse with people clamouring to buy masks where some shops have their masks all sold out.
