Over the National Day holiday, many people took advantage of the long weekend to go overseas. What resulted is the number of tragedies that occurred. The Tioman incident, Bali incident and another third incident which I’ve forgotten, splashed over the S.T.

In the Tioman case, the heavy downpour resulted in a flash flood which swept the four people away, drowning two of them. The guy who died in Bali was swimming together with 30 other people before a strong current overcame him. Although he had a friend with him to keep him afloat while another friend went to get help, eventually he didn’t survive.

Looks like H1N1 has reached its plateau after the number of people visiting clinics has started to decline. However in Malaysia, it is only beginning to get worse with people clamouring to buy masks where some shops have their masks all sold out.

Last Friday afternoon, I was listening to the radio while stopping at the traffic light junction. When waiting for the light to turn green, I turned my attention to the also stationary silver Mercedes to my left. Just when I was to avert away, I saw the Mercedes inch forward with a lurch and banged into the black MPV in front. What the ……

What was the driver thinking? It was a non-threatening situation, nothing out of the ordinary. Must be the driver mistaking the accelerator as the brake. The door opened and out stepped a woman in sunglasses, looking embarrassed. She walked to the front to check out the damage.

I was anticipating and hoping to see a burly ah beng climb out of the black MPV. You know lah, ah beng would raise his tattoo-ed arms and gesture with the Hokkien $&%*%#*^%. I wanna see show mah.

To my disappointment, the owner of the black MPV was a si boon guy in army uniform. I focused on his face to look out for hints of anger and frustration but none watsoever. He strolled to the back of his car to check things out in a cool and calm manner. Nary a hurry.

And then the green light came on. I had to drive off before I can stay on to watch the final episode of the drama.

When I found out that Paris had paid a touching tribute to MJ, I thought it was Paris Hilton. Instead it is his 11-year-old daughter. The very first time appearing publicly without being shielded by her father who had feverishly prevented his children from getting exposed to the media.

The number of H1N1 cases has catapulted to 783 today with 82 cases accounted for the day. Good news is that among the 783, three hundred of them have recovered.

I think the irritating client has landed on sg soil after being away for a few days. So he’s gonna stay away from me for the next 7 days. Thank god his nitpicking ways had laid low and didnt act up the past week. For the other clients, all smooth on the waterfront as things have settled into quite a routine after a few months.

It started with single digit increase, then as time progresses, it was a double digit jump in the tens range. Now it’s in the twenties region. What else can I be talking about? It’s the H1N1 cases in sg which have reached 220 to date.

It was found out that about half of the cases do not run a fever. Which means that it isnt necessary for one to be down with a fever to be deemed as having been infected with the H1N1 bug.

The new client has been trying to be difficult. Nitpicking on certain minute details and trying to stretch the dollar to its maximum. Gotta meet him tomorrow for another meeting. The current clients are easier to handle.

The population of Singapore has increased to 4.84 million. Wow, I have never thought that there would be so many people in this tiny sunny getting hotter as the days go by island. Increase attributed to the influx of more foreign immigrants. No wonder the streets of Singapore are getting crowded every time you take a step out to the shopping malls. The last time I was acutely aware of the Sg population is when it was only abt 1 – 2 million people. I think. Either that or I wasn’t taking too much interest in it.

Due to the economic downturn, people have also been delaying their wedding plans and childbirth plans too with the Chinese having the lowest birthrate amongst the races. I also wanna contribute to the baby population leh but still waiting for the right gal.
